Eligibility Criteria

Age Limit

  • Minimum Age: 21 years
  • Maximum Age: 30 years (for most posts)

Age relaxations are available as per government rules:

  • SC/ST: +5 years
  • OBC: +3 years
  • PwBD: 10–15 years
  • LIC Employees: +5 years
  • Ex-servicemen: As per central guidelines

Educational Qualification

The eligibility depends on the role:

  • AAO Generalist: Graduation in any discipline from a recognized university.
  • AAO Specialist:
    • CA: Chartered Accountant with ICAI membership.
    • CS: Company Secretary with ICSI membership.
    • Actuarial: Passed 6 papers in actuarial exams (India or UK).
    • Insurance Specialist: Fellowship in Life Insurance plus work experience.
    • Legal: LLB with at least 50% marks and enrollment with the Bar Council.
  • AE (Civil/Electrical): B.E./B.Tech in Civil or Electrical Engineering with minimum 3 years’ experience in construction of multi-storied buildings.

The application fee must be paid online.

  • SC/ST/PwBD: ₹85 + GST + transaction charges
  • Others (General/OBC/EWS): ₹700 + GST + transaction charges

Selection Process

The LIC AAO & AE selection will take place in four stages:

  1. Preliminary Exam – An online objective test.
  2. Mains Exam – Includes both objective and descriptive questions.
  3. Interview – Personality and communication skills test.
  4. Medical Examination – Final medical fitness check before appointment.

Important Note: Marks from the Preliminary Exam are only for qualifying. The final merit list will be prepared based on the Mains Exam + Interview scores.

  • Quantitative Aptitude: 35 questions
  • Duration: 1 hour

  • Descriptive test (Essay and Letter writing)

For Specialist posts, subject-related professional knowledge questions will also be included.
