Bhopal, August 20, 2025 – In a historic move to strengthen the law-and-order machinery, the Madhya Pradesh government has announced the recruitment of 22,500 entry-level police personnel over the next three years. This massive hiring plan aims to improve public safety, provide more job opportunities for youth, and prepare for the grand Simhastha Kumbh Mela 2028, one of the largest religious gatherings in the world.

Government’s Big Push for Police Strength

The state government has unveiled a detailed plan to hire 7,500 police personnel every year for the next three years. These new appointments will fill vacancies across different ranks of constables and other frontline roles. The aim is not only to control rising crime but also to ensure enough security manpower for future challenges.

Chief Minister Mohan Yadav highlighted that the decision comes at the right time. Madhya Pradesh has been witnessing increasing pressure on its existing police force due to population growth, urbanisation, and rising demands of public safety. The state wants to be better prepared with a young and motivated police workforce.

Creation of a Special Police Recruitment Board

To ensure transparency and efficiency, the government has decided to create a Madhya Pradesh Police Recruitment Board. This new board will handle all hiring activities from 2026 onwards. Until then, the Staff Selection Board (SSB) will conduct the recruitment process for 2025.

The separate board is expected to bring in more speed, fairness, and modern methods of selection. It will cut down on delays and give young candidates a smoother application experience. The government believes this step will reduce corruption and increase the trust of candidates in the selection process.

Boost to Public Safety and Preparedness

With 22,500 new personnel, the police presence across cities, towns, and rural belts will see a major improvement. The recruitment is also linked to the Simhastha 2028 event, where millions of pilgrims and tourists are expected to visit Ujjain. For such a mega gathering, strong security arrangements will be critical.

The CM assured that the new police force will not only manage crowd control during big events but also focus on tackling crime, improving women’s safety, and fighting cybercrime.

Benefits and Welfare for Police Families

Along with the recruitment announcement, the government also introduced several welfare measures for existing police personnel and their families:

  • Special allowances for Deputy Superintendents, senior officers, and those on VVIP duty, aligned with the Sixth Pay Commission.
  • Extra reservation benefits in higher education courses for children and widows of martyrs from police, jail, and home guard services.
  • A new police hospital and Disha Learning Centre will be established to improve healthcare and skill development opportunities for the force.
  • Plans for modern equipment, better housing, and risk allowances to improve the morale of serving officers.

These steps are aimed at motivating current police personnel while attracting more young aspirants to join the service.

Annual Recruitment Plan

The recruitment will follow a simple formula – 7,500 fresh appointments per year. This phased approach will allow the administration to manage training, placement, and absorption of new recruits more smoothly.

Candidates will be recruited for constable and other entry-level roles. The exact number of posts for each category will be announced in the upcoming official notifications.

Recruitment Process and Selection

For the 2025 batch, the Staff Selection Board will publish the official notification soon. The selection process is expected to include:

  • Written Examination to test basic knowledge, reasoning, and aptitude.
  • Physical Fitness Test including running, long jump, and high jump.
  • Medical Examination to check health and fitness standards.
  • Document Verification to confirm eligibility.

Detailed guidelines will be shared once the notification is released. Aspirants are advised to keep track of the official website of MP Police and the state government’s recruitment portals.

Administrative Push

To ensure the process runs smoothly, the Chief Minister directed the Home and Finance Departments to work closely and remove all bottlenecks. Meetings will be held to clear financial approvals, training budgets, and logistical issues related to the recruitment process.

The government wants to avoid unnecessary delays that have previously slowed down police hiring. This administrative coordination will make sure that results and joining letters are issued on time.

Opportunities for Youth of Madhya Pradesh

For lakhs of young aspirants in the state, this announcement is a golden chance to secure a government job. Entry-level police posts are considered stable, respected, and well-paying career options. With additional perks and allowances, the positions are likely to attract massive applications.

Students and job seekers preparing for government exams are already celebrating the news. Many coaching centres in cities like Bhopal, Indore, Jabalpur, and Gwalior are expecting a sharp rise in admissions for police exam preparation courses.

Focus on Ending Naxalism by 2026

The government has also connected this recruitment with its bigger mission to end Naxalism in Madhya Pradesh by 2026. The new police personnel will be deployed in sensitive areas to strengthen anti-Naxal operations. This step highlights that the government is looking at recruitment not only from a jobs perspective but also as part of a broader security strategy.

Modernisation of Police Force

Apart from manpower, the CM also spoke about plans to modernise the police with new vehicles, forensic labs, cybercrime units, and advanced weapons. Training modules will be updated to include digital policing, AI-based crime detection tools, and smart surveillance.

This combination of fresh recruits and modern technology will help transform the image of MP Police into a more professional, responsive, and citizen-friendly force.
